Mira

Stemma di Mira

City of art. It is the largest municipality of the Brenta Riviera (about 39,000 inhabitants) and 11th largest municipality in the Veneto region. The urban area, located halfway between Padua and Venice, belongs to the Brenta Riviera which extends along the Brenta Canal, bordered by SR 11 and overlooked by the Villas that the Venetians built between the 16th and 18th centuries. In particular, the Palladian villa “la Malcontenta” is famous in the homonymous hamlet and Villa Widmann Foscari and the Barchesse of Villa Valmarana in Mira Porte. Every year in spring, in the hamlet of Oriago, “Oriago in fiore” takes place, a fair of plants and flowers. In September, on the Sunday following the Historical Regatta, the Fiorita Riviera takes place, a parade of gondolas and other rowing boats, along the Brenta Canal, where the participants are dressed in typical Venetian clothes. Mira is also a small industrial and chemical hub, especially in the production of detergents and soaps of well-known world brands. Mira also offers a splendid bike tour through Venetian Villas, nature, art and numerous and renowned fish restaurants. Mira, why not?
